Benefits of using an Accredited Member of MEA
  • The Accredited member has successfully completed rigorous competency assessment, interview and client reference checks by a panel of industry peers.
  • The Accredited member has proven competency in their field of expertise
  • The Accredited member has obtained industry endorsement of their commitment and ability in achieving high standards and ethical practice.
Industry Accreditation Program

Industry endorsement of competency in Meetings Management and commitment to achieving high standards and ethical practice in the Meetings, Convention and Business Events Industry.

The Meetings Industry Accreditation Program (AMM, AIMM) has been in operation since 1997. It was originally designed for meetings professionals with at least three years industry experience and who were financial Members of MEA. Those members who have obtained MEA Accreditation have a proven competency in their profession and obtained Industry endorsement of their commitment and ability to achieve high standards and ethical practice. Accreditation assists potential clients to identify those who have achieved the industry standard for experience and expertise. The Accreditation program includes:

  • Accredited Meetings Manager (AMM) - in operation since 1997
  • Accredited In-House Meetings Manager (AIMM) - in operation January 2004

Those awarded this status are entitled to use the post-nominal AMM or AIMM.

Associate-Fellow of MEA

Dedication to the industry & its future, the Association & its members and continuing professional development

The Associate-Fellow of MEA (AFMEA - formerly AMIAA) Recognition Program has been in operation since 1993. The status of Associate-Fellow of MEA is a distinctive recognition open to all MEA members and covers all fields ranging from conference organisers through to venue staff, audio-visual or production personnel, tour operators etc. Associate-Fellow recognition indicates the member has proven dedication to the industry and its Association and to ensuring their skills and knowledge remain current through on-going professional development.

Applying for Associate-Fellow status is just a mouse-click away! The AFMEA Recognition page (in the Members section of the MEA website ) outlines all your current details in a simple checklist format.

Those awarded this status are entitled to use the post-nominal AFMEA.
