About the Centre for Excellence
The Centre for Excellence (CFE) was jointly established in 2005 by Conventions & Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) and Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) and is dedicated specifically to the professional development of the New Zealand meetings industry.
CFE offers professional development, accreditation and recognition programmes and awards for the meetings and events industry in New Zealand.
Membership of CFE is available to all CINZ members and includes the benefits of full MEA membership. Not only do CFE members obtain direct access to professional development in New Zealand, they are now also eligible to apply for industry accreditation and recognition, as well as entry into the highly coveted MEA Meetings & Events Industry Awards, now recognizing excellence in the meetings and events industry in New Zealand.
Centre for Excellence objectives
CFE’s objective is to provide a forum for its members in the New Zealand conference, meetings and events industry to acquire professional development, to strive for better business practices and to network, sharing ideas and experiences. CFE aims to deliver this by:
- Providing a professional development programme (PD), conducted in New Zealand, and access to all MEA PD programmes
- Encouraging industry accreditation and recognition in New Zealand through the MEA Industry Awards, Accreditation and Recognition programmes
- Working with CINZ and MEA to encourage excellent business practice in the New Zealand meetings and events industry
Who would join the Centre for Excellence?
A wide range of industry businesses and individuals would benefit from membership to CFE including Conference/Event
Organisers, Conference and Meeting Venues, Tour and Activity Operators, Convention Bureaux, Travel Agencies, and In-House
Meeting Organisers.
