Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is leading the way when it comes to green convention centres. The Melbourne Convention Centre is the first convention centre in the world to achieve a 6 Star Green Star environmental rating. The centre's innovative sustainable design and operational features ensure the comfort of delegates and protection of the environment go hand-in-hand.

The MCEC is committed to ensuring every aspect of our business is conducted in an environmentally conscious manner. We have a dedicated group of staff, the M Green team, whose job it is to come up with fresh initiatives and new strategies to progress and benchmark the MCEC's environmental performance. Our green efforts have been recognised with a string of environmental awards including the 2009 Banksia Foundation Built Environment Award, the 2009 IMEX Green Supplier Gold Award and the 2009 BPN Sustainability Award.

Crown Events & Conferences

As Australia's largest entertainment complex comprising casino, two hotels, restaurants, function space, conference space, retail outlets and numerous other venues, Crown is very conscious about the impact its operations have on the environment, both at the present time and for future generations. Crown's environmental sustainability commitment focuses on three key pillars – water, waste and energy. Our plan is to ensure we reduce or impact on the environment by implementing water conservation initiatives, waste reduction programs and energy efficiency projects that make real lasting contributions. Crown is a Sustainability Victoria certified Silver Waste Wise Business.

Flemington – The Event Centre

Flemington understands the importance of hosting sustainable events and as such in October last year, the Victoria Racing Club announced a new long term initiative entitled Flemington Green Fields. The program enlisted the support of sustainability partners AGL, Cleanevent and SecondBite who provided expertise in developing strategies to reduce the environmental impact of the 2008 Melbourne Cup Carnival. This year it was expanded to include Peter Rowland Catering and James Boags. The Flemington Green Fields program is a result of the VRC's sustainability charter which focuses on the long term and continuous improvement of the Club's environmental performance. This strategy will continue to evolve through experience, technology, education and the ongoing support of our sustainability partners.

More information on the conference suppliers will be available in the coming weeks.
