MEA is an industry association which provides a networking base for its members, giving opportunities to further gain business; discuss issues pertaining to the market; learn new ideas through professional development seminars and the annual conference; and lobby the government on issues affecting the meetings industry in Australia. It offers an opportunity for all members to speak with a common voice.

    The MEA Meetings & Events Industry Awards recognise excellent business practice in the Meetings and Events Industry in Australia. They encourage industry professionals to excel in the achievement of their business and personal goals, and reward those who achieve outstanding results. This reward is not only the personal satisfaction for those who have strived for improvement, but it also raises the overall standard of practice within the industry.

  • Industry Accreditation & Recognition Programs
    Both programs infer a particular status on the achievements and dedication of the holder within the industry. Accredited Members (Accredited Meetings Manager AMM, and Accredited In-House Meetings Manager AIMM) have obtained industry endorsement of their commitment to achieving high standards and ethical practice. It is a strong indication of their ability to handle meetings management projects. MEA strongly recommends the use of Accredited Members. Associate Fellows of MEA (AFMEA) have gained a recognition indicating their proven dedication to the industry and its Association and to ensuring their skills and knowledge remain current through ongoing professional development. AFMEA status is open to all MEA members.
