Chair's Message - August 2008

A lot has happened since I wrote my last message to you. One of the highlights of the last few months was the 21st MEA National Conference in Alice Springs. The conference committee and local suppliers proved that the Red Centre is a wonderful destination for events. The conference program was interesting and the social program was sensational, including a fun filled welcome reception at the Telegraph Station with a special MEA Henley-on-Todd Regatta and a casual “bush bash” at Ooraminna Station Homestead. |

AFMEA Recognition

The Awards and Accreditation committee held its second successful online MEA recognition session at William Angliss Institute on Tuesday 17th June. For those not yet recognised MEA members this is a great opportunity to become an AFMEA (Associate-Fellow of MEA). |

YMEA @ Alumbra

Even the weather couldn’t deter young event industry professionals from attending Victoria’s 3rd YMEA event. The night went off without a hitch at the beautiful Alumbra, with great food, atmosphere and lots of new people to meet! Alumbra provided a beautiful warm environment, with flames of an open fire projected on the walls and beautifully lit furniture creating a relaxed night. |

In House Meeting Managers Form Special Interest Group

MEA In house Meeting Managers have recently established a Special Interest Group in Victoria. A networking event was held in June for the group and was hosted in the Presidents Room at the RACV Club with a flamenco guitarist provided by Music Theatre Australia adding to the ambience. |
