Initial Application

To apply for MEA Accreditation, you must demonstrate that you have a high level of skills and experience in managing events with a minimum of five (5) years in full-time employment as an event manager with full responsibility for delivering events, including financial management.

You are required to:

  • Complete the three required Assessment Criteria (Professional Achievements, Qualifications and Professional Development)
  • Satisfy the minimum 120 points as set out in the Accreditation Guidelines
  • Provide a letter of support from your employer stating the length of employment and confirming the information provided in the application is correct. The applicant will also be asked to declare that all the information outlined in the application is correct in the terms and conditions on the application form
  • Agree to abide by the MEA Code of Conduct
  • Provide two client and one supplier references who you have worked with in the preceding three years
  • Be a current financial member of MEA and continues to be a financial member of MEA
  • Attend a face-to-face, online or telephone interview with members of the Accreditation Admissions Panel

The applicant is required to complete all sections of the on-line application form and upload all the required supporting documentation. Before you start your application, please ensure you have updated all external training and activities in your MEA personal account to satisfy the minimum 120 points as set in the Accreditation Guidelines.

The application will be pending until approval has been received from the Accreditation Admissions Panel. Once approved, accreditation is valid for three years.  

MEA Accredited Event Professionals are presented with an Accreditation Certificate and authorisation to use the AEP logo and post nominal.

Accreditation Application Fees

Payments are required upon submission of application and are non-refundable.

Re-Accreditation

Accredited Event Professionals are required to renew their accreditation every three years.

To renew, applicants must complete the renewal form and:

  • Complete the two required Assessment Criteria (Professional Achievements and Professional Development)
  • Satisfy the minimum 100 points required as set out in the Accreditation Guidelines
  • Agree to abide by the MEA Code of Conduct
  • Provide two client and one supplier references, who the applicant has worked with in the previous three years
  • Be a current financial member of MEA and continues to be a financial member of MEA

You are not required to undergo an interview or complete the Qualifications Assessment Criteria.

Payments are required upon submission of renewal application and are non-refundable.
