The MEA Mentor Program is an event industry based initiative that 'matches' you with up and coming event professionals to provide an educational mentoring opportunity.
One of the challenges in our industry is attracting, recruiting and retaining skilled professionals to work in the sector. MEA has identified the Mentor Program as a key initiative to support young professionals to up-skill and progress by pairing them with experienced leaders within the industry.
The Mentor Program commences with an introductory webinar for all participants. Mentors and Mentees will be paired from within the various industry sectors over a six-month period and provided with a handbook to enable them to maximise their experience and to monitor their progress and record what they have learned.
Past Mentors and Mentees have praised the program and have commented that by the end of the program, a Mentee's knowledge and experience of the broader industry has been accelerated by two to three years.
There is no fee to take part in the Program, however MEA expects that only people who genuinely value this opportunity and will dedicate time to meet with their Mentor/Mentee will apply. Mentors must be MEA members (either Corporate or Individual) to participate.
