'Show & Televise' is an activity that is equal parts networking and education, which will leave you feeling more confident with your communication skills - an essential for any event professional in the current recovery-phase our industry is in!

These webinars are free for MEA members. We can't wait to see you online - book your tickets today!

ABOUT THE SESSION

This activity, which works equally well live or online, is part networking event and part educational session about how to be a more comfortable communicator with others.

By its end you will have learned some amazing facts about other people (some of whom you may have known for years), as well as gaining a vital understanding of how to create a more collaborative culture in your teams.

Show & Televise is a wonderfully audience-focused session to run at a live conference, while also being a brilliant way of making remote team members feel great about themselves … and closer to each other.

It is based on the premise that, “Everyone has a story”, and is a more meaningful, more advanced, more structured and more adult version of the Show & Tell activity you might remember from your school days.

Participants are asked to find an item in their home that reminds them of something meaningful and inspiring from their own life. The story behind the object, which often reveals an interesting and previously unknown chapter from their life, is then shared in a secure and safe setting, via the experienced facilitating hands of Darren.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO

1. Sign up!

2. Select something you have at home (it could be an item or a photograph) that you are especially proud of, and be prepared to share its story with a small group of industry colleagues.

3. In the lead-up to the event, Darren will send a Participant Briefing Sheet that explains how the activity works and a guide as to how to tell a 2-3 minute story about its significance.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

1. How to open lines of communication within your team.

2. How trust and collaboration improves within a group when people share something special about themselves with others.

3. That EVERYBODY has a story, totally unrelated to their work, that helps you understand and respect them better.

4. A surprising yet vital lesson about communication that you never saw coming.
