ASHM is Australasia’s peak professional body representing healthcare professionals working in HIV, viral hepatitis, other BBVs, sexual and reproductive health. We deliver training, develop the resources and guidelines, run the conferences and advocate passionately for the needs of our members and communities. Our members are physicians, nurses, researchers, epidemiologists, social workers, pharmacists, and allied health workers – united to eliminate harm from these diseases and to protect our diverse communities.
With a minimum of two years’ experience in event coordination/management, you will have knowledge and understanding of best practice event management procedures and be comfortable interacting with both internal and external contributors and stakeholders. You will enjoy a busy role, managing multiple tasks such as co-ordinating all areas of event logistics, executing conference marketing & sponsorship plans, AV and venue management, working with committees and reporting.
With your well-developed written communication skills, a high level of verbal communication skills and a professional telephone manner, you will be preparing conference materials, correspondence and reports for review and approval. You will have the confidence to liaise with suppliers, members, committees, sponsors, exhibitors, presenters and registrants.
ASHM is seeking candidates with tertiary qualifications in Events or Project Management, enrolment in same or equivalent experience. Excellent computer skills are also required, including MS Office, events management software (Events Air) and the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.
