Join MEA Future Leaders for an insightful morning learning about the different types of event roles in the industry, hearing from a panel of wealth of experience from AV, event operations, event management and hotels. They’ll be sharing their tips & tricks on being a leader in their field of expertise & how they stay on top of event trends.

Ashley Gabriel

Director of Sales & Marketing | Novatech Creative Event Technology

With over 23 years’ experience in the live events industry, Ashley has worked on some of Australia’s leading events both locally and across the country. Ashley’s passion for using event technology in creative ways drives his approach to outstanding customer experience & designing bespoke AV solutions for events of all sizes.

 


 

Sophie Zervas

Event Coordinator | Keito Events

Sophie put her passion to practice when studying at TAFE SA, where she completed her Certificate III and Diploma of Events from 2015- 2016. Sophie has multiple years’ experience in the event management industry. Working from many sides of the event management world, from a PCO, association and now Event coordinator at Keito Events. In Sophie’s event lifetime she has worked on many events such as gala dinners, conferences, virtual conferences, social functions and exhibitions. These events ranged from 60 – 4,500 participants, in states such as SA, WA, VIC, NSW and QLD. Through these events, Sophie has worked with many vendors and clients from various backgrounds and demographics. Overall, Sophie is very passionate about the events industry here in SA!

 


 

Deanna Schumacher

Meetings Manager | Crowne Plaza Adelaide

Throughout her career in the events industry, Deanna Schumacher has had extensive experience in sales and event planning working in both hotels and the Convention Centre. In her current role as Meetings Manager at Crowne Plaza Adelaide, and a part of the hotel opening team, Deanna works closely with all departments of the hotel to provide a seamless meeting experience for her clients and delegates.

 


 

 

Jo Chadwick

General Manager – Event Operations | Events South Australia

Joanne Chadwick has over 20 years’ experience in tourism and leisure events. As the General Manager, Event Operations at Events South Australia she is responsible for overseeing the event operations functions of some of South Australia’s largest and most iconic events including the Santos Tour Down Under, Tasting Australia presented by RAA Travel and National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant. Prior to this, as Business Development Manager at Events South Australia, she was responsible for scoping new events for the state, bidding for international and national events and working with events that were supported by Events South Australia to ensure maximum benefit for the State. In 2006, Joanne was a part of the South Australian Tourism Commission’s Trade Events team, that saw Adelaide host the Australian Tourism Exchange (Australia’s largest tourism trade show) for the first time. She was responsible for ensuring South Australia’s tourism operators received maximum benefit from the opportunity. In 2010, the second time South Australia hosted this event, Joanne worked closely with Tourism Australia to ensure that South Australia was optimally showcased to the international tourism trade representatives in attendance.
